Friday Favorite: Black Shiplap/Paneling

Black Shiplap/Paneling

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll notice we’ve made a few changes to the exterior of our home … Using lots of black paint. We painted our shutters (which were a pretty sad looking blue/grey color), black as well as our front door black (which used to be bright brick red). To say I have a thing with black paint recently would be an understatement!

I’ve been looking for ways to add the color inside, without making a room look too dark. I came across a couple inspiring interiors using black to cover shiplap instead of the Joanna Gaines signature white look. I absolutely love the striking contrast. Take a peek at my favorite looks below:

The beautiful studio of Christien Starkenburg. I recommend clicking through the photo to see more images of the kitchen area … So thought out, crisp and clean.

A beautifully laid out multi-purpose room designed by Light & Dwell.

A truly stunning guest house right next to the water … Ceiling and walls, designed by Muskoka Living. The color and texture pairs so beautifully with the natural stone fireplace.

Two-toned kitchen cabinetry, black shiplap/paneled walls and black flooring, all surround a majority of white walls and creamy textures. Home listed for sale via JJ Media Group.

Lastly, I couldn’t not go without posting work from McGee & Co! This mountain home bath is what dreams are made of.

I hope you find a bit of inspiration from these like I have! Have a great weekend!
